Who We Are
Foothills Wild Church is sacred nature-based experience to awaken deep love for self, this earth, and all beings that we might participate in the healing of this planet. We believe church is not a building or a set of beliefs, but a community of people seeking to connect with Great Mystery, or the Divine, in ways that bring personal wholeness and societal transformation, and that the natural wild world holds the wisdom we need to nourish these connections.
We come to find others who are on similar spiritual paths through, silence, beauty, contemplation and wandering. People are welcome from all backgrounds. There are no dogma or creeds - just your openness to your own spiritual growth within nature and in community. There is no expectation except honouring where you are on your spiritual journey and respecting where others are on their journey.
Foothills Wild Church gathers the traditional territory of Treaty 7 in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations), as well as the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. We gather within the Bow River Basin Watershed.
Leadership
Robin Galey, LeAnn Blackert, and Sarah Lyon provide rotating facilitation for our gatherings, each contributing their own special gifts and sensitivities. The leadership comes from the wild, natural spaces in which we gather, where we learn to listen to wisdom that is all around us.

Gatherings
We meet monthly on the third Sunday afternoon from 2:00-3:30 pm. We gather at a variety of wild green spaces throughout the Foothills/Calgary area, honouring the diversity of our geographical location and the diversity of our community.
Our flow is gathering together, reflection, wandering, sharing and blessing.
